Heinrich Böll Foundation releases study «Borderline – The EU’s new border surveillance initiatives: assessing the costs and fundamental rights implications of EUROSUR and the ‘Smart Borders’ Proposals« – 6 July 2012

The study examines two new EU Border Surveillance initiatives, the European External Border Surveillance System (EUROSUR) and the ‘smart borders package’, including the establishment of an Entry-Exit System (EES) and the creation of a Registered Traveller Programme (RTP).
